Shared Resources Introduces New Billing System
New Billing and Instrument Scheduling System Launches August 1st
June 6, 2013- Shared Resources Administration is launching a new billing application with iLab’s Core Facility Management software. This system will allow researchers and Shared Resource staff to manage service requests, equipment reservations, usage tracking, and billing – all online!
iLab will integrate with the FHCRC Active Directory so FHCRC faculty will log on using their HutchNet ID. Other Consortium members will be invited in the coming month via email to register for an iLab account.
The implementation of iLab will begin with four core resources (Proteomics, Electron Microscopy, Flow Cytometry, and Experimental Histopathology) and is scheduled to launch on August 1st. Seven additional resources will be deployed over 2 waves with an anticipated completion date of January 2014. Some resources will not be utilizing iLab but will continue to process their service requests, instrument scheduling, and billing as they currently do now.
Shared Resources Administration will be communicating process and procedure changes via email and Brown Bag sessions and will provide on-going support to researchers and core facilities. Individual training for research groups can also be scheduled.
More information about iLab can be found on the Shared Resources website. Questions or concerns can be directed to Suzanne Giftai (667-1270).
